Manchester United transfer news: Six superstars the Red Devils could buy with £200million war chest

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is going to have a busy summer.

The Red Devils manager is reportedly set to be handed in excess of £200million by Ed Woodward in a massive summer squad overhaul.

And it’s safe to say the United squad is in need of a major restructure.

Ander Hererra is on his way out of Old Trafford and is set to sign a deal with French giants Paris Saint-Germain.

While club captain Antonio Valencia is set to leave United after nearly 11 years with the club.

Juan Mata’s future is also uncertain, with the Spaniard admitting he could return to Spain when his contract expires in the summer.

But who could be on their way to Old Trafford? talkSPORT.com has assessed all the potential new arrivals in what looks set to be one of Man United’s busiest transfer windows to date.

Jadon Sancho (Borussia Dortmund)

Sancho is reportedly Manchester United’s top target this summer.

The 19-year-old has been an integral part of Borussia Dortmund’s title challenging squad.

His form has also seen the teenager break into Gareth Southgate’s England team and is widely regarded as one of the countries brightest young prospects.

United are ready to pay over £100million for the winger, according to The Independent..

Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are also thought to be interested in signing Sancho but United is the likeliest destination – and he fuelled speculation of a move after retweeting a post urging him to head to Old Trafford.

Kalidou Koulibaly (Napoli)

United are also reportedly preparing to make a huge bid for Napoli defender Koulibaly.

The Senegalese powerhouse has been a long-term target for Old Trafford chiefs, particularly for former manager Jose Mourinho.

Mourinho was keen to sign a centre-back last summer and Koulibaly was reportedly on the top of his wish-list.

But a move for a centre-back never materialised – a decision which the Portuguese bemoaned repeatedly before he was sacked.

However, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, United are set to break the bank to tempt the Serie A side into selling their star defender.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka (Crystal Palace)

Manchester United are also believed to be monitoring Crystal Palace star Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Diogo Dalot, 20, who was dubbed the best right-back in the world for his age upon his arrival last summer by ex-boss Mourinho, has featured regularly under Solskjaer.

However, the Norwegian, who gave 33-year-old full-back Ashley Young a new deal in February, still wants a replacement for Valencia – and Wan-Bissaka could occupy the right flank for years to come.

The England Under-21 star has been a standout performer for the Eagles this season, contributing significantly to Palace’s 11 clean sheets this season – the joint-fourth highest in the Premier League.

Idrissa Gueye (Everton)

Another player who could be on the way to Old Trafford is Everton’s nimble box-to-box midfielder Gueye.

The Senegal international has made his name as one of the best Toffees players in recent seasons.

He has been likened to N’Golo Kante for his work rate and could be a natural successor for the departing Hererra.

United have often used a three man midfield in recent seasons with two defensive minded players – a move for Gueye could see that change where he could occupy a sole spot in front of defence.

Nicolas Pepe (Lille)

Another player who has been linked with a move to Old Trafford is Lille forward Pepe.

The 23-year-old winger is expected to be one of the most in-demand players when the summer transfer window opens.

He has lit up Ligue 1 with 19 goals and 11 assists this season – and was once again impressive on Sunday, scoring a goal as Lille dismantled PSG 5-1 on Sunday.

But securing a move away from France will not be easy, with Lille already rejecting bids worth €50million (£42,9m).

Furthermore, Arsenal have been regularly linked with the starlet and Bayern Munich also reportedly interested.

Moussa Dembele (Lyon)

United are also reportedly keeping an eye on former Celtic striker Moussa Dembele, according to the Daily Express.

The 22-year-old Frenchman has scored 18 goals in all competitions this season for Lyon.

And he is no stranger to English football, having played for Fulham before joining Celtic.

But he was still very young during his spell with the Cottagers and now he has more experience under his belt in the Scottish and French leagues.
