Liverpool have released their new home kit for the 2019/20 season.
With a design to celebrate 100 years of one of the Reds’ and English footballs most successful managers – Bob Paisley OBE – the strip sees the return of pinstripes to the Reds’ home shirt.
First introduced in 1982/83 (Paisley’s first season in charge) the pinstripes aim to encapsulate the spirit of Liverpool fans across the world.
General Manager of New Balance Football, Kenny McCallum said: â€Å“We’re extremely excited and proud to reveal the New Balance Liverpool FC Home Kit.
“Bob Paisley’s incredible legacy was the ultimate inspiration for the 2019/20 strip in what would have been his 100th year. We hope this design will bring success to the club as it did when Paisley was manager.â€
The world’s most expensive defender Virgil van Dijk said: â€Å“This year’s home kit is incredibly strong. I’m really looking forward to wearing it as we continue to build upon the Club’s illustrious history and this season’s success.â€
Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firminho and Van Dijk were on the scoresheet as Wednesday’s 4-1 win in Porto secured a last-four meeting between the Premier League leaders and Barcelona.
The mouth-watering clash is in danger of making Liverpool’s upcoming fixtures against Cardiff and Huddersfield look a little mundane by comparison.
New Balance’s deal with the Anfield club runs out at the end of the next season, with American sportswear giants Nike reportedly in pole position to take over.
