Liverpool won the FA Youth Cup for the fourth time in their history after beating Manchester City on penalties at the City Football Academy.
While there is little to separate both of the senior sides in the Premier League, the same applied to the the next generation of talent as the Merseyside outfit lifted the trophy for the first time since 2007, after winning 5-3 on penalties.
Nabil Touaizi opened the scoring in first-half stoppage-time, but Bobby Duncan, cousin of Steven Gerrard, struck from distance to take the game to extra-time and it was captain Paul Glatzel who netted the decisive spot-kick after Cole Palmer had hit the bar for City.
It was the first time a side other than Chelsea had won the competition since 2014, but who from the class of 2019 caught the eye and will any of these players be able to make it in the Liverpool first team at some point in the future?

Rhys Williams (Defender)
The 18-year-old is a commanding presence at the back and, despite not being captain, has emerged as a real leader for Liverpool.
The Reds have high hopes for Williams and his stature, ability and even his hair have faint similarities to that of Virgil van Dijk and the coaching staff have been using video clips of the Dutchman to help him follow as an example.
“I watch all the Liverpool games and he’s the main player I focus on. If they do analysis after the game and it’s on him, then I’ll record it or watch it there and then just to see if I can take bits of his game into mine,” said Williams.
Bobby Duncan (Striker)
When your cousin is one of the greatest players in Liverpool’s history, chances are there will be a degree of pressure on you long before a ball has been kicked. However, the former Wigan and Man City youth star has made a considerable impact in his debut season with the Reds.
The 17-year-old is a prolific forward and has scored a staggering 18 goals in 18 league matches this campaign and has 24 in all competitions.
It was his effort against his old side that sent the match into extra-time and he showed his class with a respectful tweet to City afterwards.
Paul Glatzel (Striker)
A strong, left-footed forward with the ability to both create and score goals, Glatzel was the player who held his nerve to score the winning penalty for Liverpool.
The captain, who has been with Liverpool since he was six, has represented Germany at under 18 level and signed his first professional contract with the club back in February.
Glatzel has 28 goals this season and has enjoyed a productive partnership with Duncan in attack.
Jake Cain (Midfielder)
Having made the step up from the Under-16 side to the Under-18s, Cain is an exciting, creative player, who has also been noted for his high work rate and endless energy.
He set up 11 goals this season and has three goals in 27 appearances. His long-range of passing is crucial in getting Liverpool’s attack going and has seen him compared to the likes of Gerrard and Jordan Henderson.
Neco Williams (Defender)
The talented Welshman has overcome back problems to impress this season and has been regularly involved with Liverpool’s under-23 side as a result.
His versatility means he is capable of playing in midfield, but his coaches see him as a right-back. During his time at the club, Gerrard hailed Williams and described him as ‘fantastic’.
