Mark Noble is enjoying something of an Indian summer in his career.
Despite a tricky start to the season, the West Ham United captain is finishing the campaign strongly as the Hammers target a top half finish.
After bossing the midfield against Tottenham Hotspur two weeks ago, Noble again delivered a composed performance from midfield as Southampton were put to the sword at London Stadium.
It was Noble’s scything pass which set up Marko Arnautovic for the first goal, leaving the midfielder on five Premier League assists for the season with just one game left to play.
The former England Under-21 captain turns 32 next week, but has impressed in Manuel Pellegrini’s first season in charge.
In fact, he now has as many assists in the league as Kevin De Bruyne, Mesut Ozil and Fred COMBINED.

With Declan Rice dominating the midfield, Noble has been granted license to get a little further forward and is targeting a strong end to the season away to Watford next Sunday.
â€Å“The last two weeks have been fantastic,†he told the club’s official website. â€Å“We didn’t want to waste Saturday after last week. Six points at Spurs and Southampton at home were two great results and fully deserved.
â€Å“I think we’ve made real progress with the way we’ve played this season, in a certain style.
“Even away to Spurs, we played a certain way.

â€Å“Don’t forget we missed Dec [Rice] and Felipe [Anderson] on Saturday but Pedro came in and was fantastic and Grady came in who hasn’t played for a while and it’s been really good.
â€Å“It’s a shame it always seems to end when we’re playing so well. We just hope we can get the three points next week against Watford and finish on such a high.â€
