Mauricio Pochettino has admitted Harry Kane could be out for the season with an ankle injury.
Against Manchester City, the Tottenham striker left the pitch before Heung-Min Son struck to give the hosts a 1-0 lead in their Champions League quarter-final first leg.
After a robust challenge on England international Fabian Delph, Kane rolled over his left ankle which has troubled him for years.
Rather than receive medical attention on the pitch at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the 25-year-old went straight down the tunnel.
Speaking to BT Sports after the win, Pochettino admitted his star man could well miss the rest of the campaign with possible ligament damage.
Assessing Kane’s injury, Pochettino said: “We need to check tomorrow but it looks the same, a similar issue.

“Very sad, very disappointed, and it’s going to be tough for the rest of the season.
“We hope it’s not a big issue but there’s not much time to recover. He’s twisted his ankle and we will see how he reacts in the next few hours.”
The striker was later seen leaving the new £850million stadium with a protective boot over his left leg, with crutches to support him.
Pochettino felt Delph could have been sent off for the challenge but did absolve the City defender of blame for the injury.
He said: “I said to him, ‘You were lucky’. Checking on the VAR, maybe technically it was a red card but I think both were fighting for a ball and had no intention to damage each other.”
