He cut in from the left to curl a superb effort past former Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny in the 46th minute.

Reports in France claim Liverpool have expressed an interest in Neres, but are yet to submit a bid, while Borussia Dortmund are believed to have offered Ajax €40million for his services.

And Liverpool supporters were certainly big fans of Neres’ strike.

Cristiano Ronaldo, who played for the first time since suffering a hamstring injury last month, opened the scoring for Juventus with his 125th Champions League goal.

But Neres’ equaliser keeps the tie alive for Ajax, who will go to Turin with confidence after beating holders Real Madrid 4-1 at the Bernabeu in the last round.

Ajax boss Erik Ten Hag said: ”1-1 is not the result you hope for, but it is a result.

â€Å“Last time we lost 2-1 to Madrid at home, so we are still in it. We had some very good opportunities.”
