Pep Guardiola claims the media want Liverpool to win the Premier League over Manchester City.
City moved back above the Reds with a 1-0 victory over Leicester City on Monday night courtesy of a sensational strike from captain Vincent Kompany.
Guardiola’s side now just need to beat Brighton on the final day of the season on Sunday to secure back-to-back titles.
Speaking to talkSPORT after the tense win against Leicester, the Spaniard paid tribute to his side as they made it 13 successive league wins – and couldn’t resist a barb at the press.
He said: “My feeling here is the media desire Liverpool to be champions.
“But 195 points in two seasons, it is something unique. We were seven points behind Liverpool, we could have been ten points had Liverpool beaten us here, but we never give up and have won 13 games in a row.â€

It was a nail-biting night for Guardiola as his City side struggled to break down Leicester before Kompany’s stunning intervention on 70 minutes.
The Belgian defender will never score a better goal in his career – a ferocious 30-yard drive that left Kasper Schmeichel with absolutely no chance.
Asked what he was thinking when Kompany lined up to shoot, Guardiola responded: “No shoot, no shoot, no shoot!
“We were lucky that he didn’t follow my thoughts.
“He scored an incredible goal. When he is fit, his personality, his character, he is an outstanding player.”
Guardiola went on to claim in his press conference that Liverpool have it easier than his side, as they are ‘playing without pressure’.
Jurgen Klopp’s Reds have been in similarly fine form as their rivals and are just a point behind City, needing to better their result on Sunday to snatch the title.
“Liverpool play without pressure because they know it is not in their hands. It is easy,†said Guardiola. “We have the pressure.â€
On the final day, City face Brighton away, while Liverpool host Wolves, and Guardiola is not taking anything for granted.
“One game left and we’ll try,” said. “It is now 95 points and we need one more victory.
“We’ll go to Brighton trying. I don’t have to say anything to the players because they are mature.
“Brighton will be tough. They went to Arsenal and got a result. We played them in the FA Cup and that was tough because they are strong, have the set pieces, and I know they’re playing for pride.
“But it’s in our hands. We were seven points behind and never gave up. We won 13 games in a row and that’s why we are in that position.”
