Ernesto Valverde’s future as Barcelona boss is under threat following their Champions League capitulation against Liverpool.

It’s the second year in a row this has happened to Barca, after they were the victims of a miraculous turnaround at Roma last season.

And despite wrapping up the La Liga title already and reaching the Copa del Rey final, reports claim Valverde is facing the sack.

According to Spanish outlet Marca, Valverde faces serious questions from the club following back-to-back humiliations in Europe.

The 39-year-old admitted he has a lot to answer for following the Liverpool defeat on Tuesday.

He said: “I don’t know how this affects my future.
