Harry Redknapp insists Tottenham can close the gap on Manchester City and Liverpool with ‘one or two’ signings

Harry Redknapp believes Tottenham are just one or two players away from closing the gap on Manchester City and Liverpool in the Premier League.

Spurs are currently third but sit more than 20 points behind the top two.

Mauricio Pochettino has not made any signings over the last two transfer windows, but may be forced to in the summer with star playmaker Christian Eriksen being linked with a move to Real Madrid.

And former Tottenham manager Redknapp believes the gulf between the top three and the chasing pack will only get wider.

He told talkSPORT: “I think Man City, Liverpool and Tottenham are on a different level now and they will be next year and going forward unless the others do something drastic they will pull away from Arsenal, Chelsea and Man United.

“I watched Arsenal the other day and they are poor.

“Man United, who knows what is going to happen. They are five or six players short as well.

“Chelsea now with the problems with Roman Abramovich. We don’t see him there like we used to see him.

“I think the top three will pull even further away and Tottenham can close the gap if they get one or two in.

“If Eriksen goes then spend the money and go be a force again next year and close the gap on the top two.”
