Manchester City toasted their second successive Premier League title with a trophy parade on Monday night with all of their squad in attendance – bar the exception of one notable name.
The only player who missed the event was France international Benjamin Mendy, who made just 14 appearances for Pep Guardiola’s men this season.
Mendy, 24, has endured another injury-hit campaign and according to the Times this was the reason he was absent from Monday’s celebration event.
The left-back is reportedly in Barcelona receiving treatment at Dr Ramón Cugat’s clinic on a persistent knee injury, which he initially picked up against Manchester United back in November.
Since then the former Monaco man has suffered several complications in his recovery, resulting in him making just four more appearances in the rest of the campaign.

In a bid to sort this issue out once and for all, Mendy is understood to have undergone key-hole surgery on his left knee.
He has also reportedly cancelled a summer holiday to complete extra fitness work and ensure that he is fully fit in time for the club’s pre-season tour to China and Japan, which begins in July.
Mendy started only five times for City in the 2017-18 season having suffered similar injury hell – damaging the cruciate ligaments in his right knee only two months after completing his £52million move from the Ligue 1 outfit.
