Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United would have to SMASH their respective transfer records to sign Gareth Bale from Real Madrid.
Bale, who made his name at White Hart Lane, does not appear to be in manager Zinedine Zidane’s plans for next season.
After six seasons and four Champions League wins, Los Blancos appear ready to cut their losses on a player who has struggled to settle in Spain.
According to Spanish publication AS, Real are confident one of England’s top clubs will fork out £113million to sign the 29-year-old.
Considering the transfers of Philippe Coutingho, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar in recent years, the Spanish giants believe this to be a fair price.
However, on top of the transfer fee, any potential suitors will be forced to deal with Bale’s wage demands. The Wales international earns £26million a year before tax (around £500,000-a-week).
Therefore, Zidane would be willing to sanction a swap deal for Bale including Paul Pogba, with the Spaniards paying a small cost on top of the deal.
Should Pogba not be available, Zidane is also extremely keen on Christian Eriksen and would be keen to bring the Dane to the Bernabeu.
Bale has scored 102 goals in 227 appearances for Real since joining from Spurs for a then world record transfer fee of £85.3million in September 2013.
But he has also suffered 22 separate injuries in that time and has struggled to adjust to the culture on the continent – not even learning Spanish.
